I had a small shed that I am building and decided to use it as a coal storage shed for the sand house. I’d like to show how I did the roof which is quick and simple. before the roof Using masking tape for the roofing material Placing the tape from the bottom up and then a ridge cap on top. I paint the masking tape black. Then using a lighter shade of black I paint tar lines on the seams. Last step is using weathering powders. For this I used White Ash, Sand, and Soot colored powders. finished product will look something like this. Now to work on the shed doors!!!!! Attachments:

Good technique. Gives nice realism. You can also use very fine grit black sandpaper.

That's a great little kit. I built it and am using it as a sanding house.
