Does anyone have any info on this steam locomotive pictured below that was on display at York?
I originally had mistaken it for the Lionel VisionLine Lionel Lines loco that was done for the company's 120th Anniversary. However that was a GS-4 #120, and this one appears to be a Lionel Legacy scale USRA Pacific 4-6-2 steamer. It's got a road-number of 2021, and the tender is decorated with Lionel Lines and "2021 Limited Edition". Had I realized this on Thursday, I would have asked Ryan Kunkle about it while I was at York. The tag on the shelf only had info on the caboose, which was catalog'd as part of Lionel's 120th Anniversary offerings... no mention of the locomotive.
I checked the catalogs last night, and I haven't found anything in this deco scheme. The 2021 Big Book catalog has two page-spreads of USRA Pacific locos, but the Lionel Lines livery isn't mentioned -- at least not as far as I can tell. Did I miss something? Or perhaps this might be a club offering of some kind? Or maybe just a "surprise".
Please chime in if you know something. Meanwhile, I've also posed this question on Lionel's Facebook page, where they posted photos of their York booth.
Inquiring minds wanna know!!!

Its a special run for the LCCA I believe. Dave Thanks, Dave. That possibility crossed my mind, but I didn't see it in the LCCA web store. I'll check in with Sal and see what the scoop is on this offering.

Thanks to one of my online train buddies seeing my post here or on Facebook, I received an email indicating this loco was an exclusive offering through the Lionel online webstore and North Carolina retail store. It's really a cool design!
Looking back on emails from earlier this year, I'm embarrassed to say I received an email on Feb 24th announcing this offering. However, the deadline for placing orders had a very short runway of March 6th. So now the question will be what -- if any -- will be available as possible "extra" units when the loco ships, or if the Lionel webstore offers them for sale. Right now, the webstore is showing them as "sold out". Of course, there might also be some eBay activity after delivery for folks who purchased one on spec. But that usually means pricing games will abound. So we shall see.
BTW, here's the email announcement...
As the old saying goes... if you snooze, you lose. But I'd bet there are lots of peeps like me who glazed right over this one-shot announcement. And when the locomotive arrives, we won't even remember getting an announcement email about it. Welcome to the harsh realities of special-run logistics in 2021. This will be even a MUCH more frequent occurrence with MTH bombarding enthusiasts with daily, new "special-announcement" offerings now and in 2022. Count on it.
