Well it was not much different than prior Saturdays at the October meets. Basically near deserted. In the red and white halls at 9am I was about the only attendee. Yellow hall was still pretty dismal inside, but at least a few people were there. Felt sorry for the vendors. Orange hall was about the Saturday morning norm. But still pretty empty. In the end I didn’t see any great deals, bought very little although my needs were small. Mostly enjoyed being there and seeing friends. The 9k attendance was announced several times btw.

Not surprised by this report. Maybe they should make Thursday a full day and drop Saturday entirely. Every day means additional costs to the vendors who apparently are staying home.

Light crowd for us early regulars but public probably arrives late. I know I gave a dealer some good money for sticking around and us Detroit 3 Railers got some excellent engine deals on Saturday!

Yellow hall is the new designation for the area under the grandstands. The TCA museum was there selling some overstock and there were other tables in there to allow for more social distancing in the orange hall. With the advent of some dealers not showing up, I don't think they needed to use the yellow hall, but made for an interesting walk thru.
Overall a very good York for me with new acquisitions. Most purchases in blue in silver on Thursday and Friday with in my opinion good crowds in both those halls. Orange seemed vacant not only of vendors but people until they closed the other halls each day and attendees shifting over. Also made some nice purchases in red and white.
Even though I have modern trains, I use the York trip to look for items I would not find in my area and unique items as well!
Good to be back after two years and see friends!

YELLOW hall? Not familiar with that one. As Macdaddy indicated, it’s the area underneath the grandstands. But it’s not “new”. Long before the Orange Hall was built, the Yellow Hall underneath the grandstand was the original dealer hall where the dealers of all sizes and various suppliers set up shop. The Yellow Hall is where I first met Mike Wolf, Clarke Dunham, and the late Jim Weaver of Atlas-O — just to name a few key players in the industry.

First met the Pride Lines Family selling their trains years ago in the Yellow Hall.
