A friend of ours gave us some of his model German military equipment. It goes great with the BR44 we have and I plan to make some vehicle mounts for the flat cars at some point. YouTube link: youtu.be/FghRYFW1U7A

I like the shot with the depot in the background.

Dan, can you do up a video of that unit without the background music? I'd love to hear the sound set and whistle.

Excellent. I'm sure you know but in Germany any displays, of the Reich symbols even on a model train or any toys are forbidden as is many songs that were a part of the German Army.

I had feeling that was the case after ww2 since alot of media covering stories related to nazi material would be edited or altered when distributed to German media, if im not mistaken countrys surrounding germany still have third reich related material.

I had feeling that was the case after ww2 since alot of media covering stories related to nazi material would be edited or altered when distributed to German media, if im not mistaken countrys surrounding germany still have third reich related material. We go there every 2 years. When we visited what was the West side in the 70s we noticed the symbols were forbidden and even in cemeteries all headstones had been replaced soon after the war from fallen soldiers. We were there when the Wall came down to go into the East, at that time symbols were still there on headstones but following year they were or had been chiseled off. Over the decades, surviving family had replaced many. One can't even collect nor have any items with the symbols. You are correct, surrounding countries have many shops that sell originals, or reproduction items. We visited a deserted Russian airbase that is now a park in the East, 100 miles north of Berlin. The planes were hidden underground with a sloped bank upwards for takeoff. Above these were railroad tracks that when we visited after Wall came down, still had freight cars and some passenger cars with the 3rd Reich symbols still visible. Next visit, these were all gone, probable destroyed.
