This week's OGF Star Of the Weekend is Steamfan77. He is building a "fantastic" new layout that is a point to point from the Long Island Railroad. I have enjoyed following his progress so much.
So let's kick off the weekend with another great FFF thread.

The North County Coaster commuter train glides through the grade crossing on the old Santa Fe line through Del Mar, Ca. on Saturday afternoon with the Pacific Ocean in the background.

Bombardier passenger cars, don't see them back east, but must be a treat for you coming from the Philly area. Additionally, you get to see the Surfliner often.

Yes, the Bombardier passenger cars are much different than what I saw back east. I had the chance to ride in them on the Caltrain from San Francisco to San Jose during a visit to Lynley's parents several years ago.
It's funny about the Surfliner. I had no connection with the train living in the east and didn't buy the K-Line cars when they were first cataloged in lieu of other things I ordered. But now I see them a lot when we're near the coast, so I had to locate the cars! Luckily so far I've found eight of the ten cars K-Line had made.

Thank you Peter for picture of Frank Ellison's buildings. I have read a lot of his writings and cling to that vision of how to build a layout. Not always successful, but I try.
Traindiesel, How great to drive down the road and see such a spectacular train. Thanks for the pictures.
