I recently purchased a PS1 UP E8 AA set. I long ago purchased a beater PS2 EMD C liner AA set. The PS2 boards are fine. I was wondering 1) is it possible to use the PS2 electronics in the C Liner to upgrade the E8 from PS1 to PS2, 2) any idea of the cost involved, and 3) if anyone here has a recommendation on who can do the work. As always any advise is most appreciated.

As always any advise is most appreciated. I would ask what kind of PS2 boards are in the C liner, 5 volt, or 3 volt. I wouldn't bother with 5 volt boards as they will fail sooner than later. Any PS1 engine can be upgraded. I'm guessing labor would be around 200-300 bucks. Could be wrong. There are several guys on the other forum that can do this upgrade for you.

Late comment, but besides "the other forum". there are people on ModeTrainForum in the O gage section that are MTH service reps.
