After Thanksgiving for me too. Seems like the big companies push Christmas earlier and earlier each year , in newspapers and on TV.

It is time to get the Christmas season rolling. It will be mid-November by the end of this week and Thanksgiving Day will be here before we know it.
Outside Christmas lights are installed and operational, just before the snow started today. In the North Country, we have to prepare early. Christmas Tree and inside lighting is next. A tradition that has been carried on for decades. Now by me and the wife, before mom and dad, and before that their parents. After the tree was up and decorated we would sing this German song "Oh Christmas Tree", then on Christmas Eve after Mass and before we went to bed we would all gather by the tree and sing "Silent Night" also still today in German to keep generations alive. I would like to share these 2 long time traditions of my family with you all.

My wife has been watching Christmas movies on hallmark for a month now. I start prepping the Christmas lights this coming weekend. So it is the season.

My wife has been watching Christmas movies on hallmark for a month now. I start prepping the Christmas lights this coming weekend. So it is the season. The Hallmark channel has been permanently on our television as well. Quite a corner on the early Christmas television market that they have. |

The Hallmark channel has been permanently on our television as well. Quite a corner on the early Christmas television market that they have.
They are very smart and know their audience very well. Hallmark and Heartland are synonymous. Give the folks something to be happy about rather than the rest of the junk out there and they will bring loyalty to the party. We enjoy these movies as well and they have become part of our Christmas season celebrations for many years. |
