My daughter and I will be traveling on the brand new Viewliner roomettes from NY to Florida on the Meteor in March. They took out the toilets too make more room for luggage, but they still have the sinks. The cars are beautiful. We will both had had our 2nd vaccines by march 2nd.

NY to Florida without a toilet and no bathroom stop??!! I'd never make it. They make products for this problem. Check the toiletries aisle at CVS.

Then we will have them on our trip to Florida in mid-March. Sorry to see the toilets go. It really does not give you more room, especially with the sink still there. IF you need the top bunk (we do not), you have to use the sink and toilet as "steps" to get up. You would have to remove the suitcase to do this with the "shelf". We had these sleeper cars when we went from New Orleans to Phoenix. It was OK, but I prefer a toilet in the roomette. With the "airline meals" in the dining car, and now this, it may be our last Amtrak overnighter. In any event, this trip is free...thanks to my Bank America Amtrak credit card. One-way/two roomettes would have been almost $1,000. We take enough round-trips to Boston to still get the card benefits.
