I was checking state of current rechargeable batteries and noticed the label stating replace only with 1.2 volt at 700 milliamp I had replaced them with the correct 1.2v but @ 2500 milliamp will these be okay? I am assuming the larger the milliamp the longer it keeps a charge?

There is no danger of replacing the battery with correct output voltage with increase in milliamps. Increasing the milliamp will give you longer time between charging. I've done and have larger Milliamp batteries installed with no problems, yet longer time between charging.
Remember Milli-amp. Milli being 1/1000 of an amp. Its the measure of a battery capacity. Using the formula and dividing 2500 by 1000 gives you 2.5 amps of power at 1.2 volts for an hour. Hope this helps.

Go with a super capacitor and do away with the battery all together

thanks to all for the replies as to bcr's etc am sure is a good idea I have 6 mth engines 2 are first edition of PRR k-4s from 2002 & 2004 the original batteries died 1 year ago so I already replaced them am thinking this set may well outlive me. so for me with the longevity of said batteries this works for me but I did learn that a higher milliamp of battery is not detrimental as long as I stick with the 1.2 volt type AA battery.
