Tom, Nice! I have seen only one or two cabeeses at the end of real revenue trains, its kind of like seeing a unicorn or Bigfoot ! Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you.

It maybe because of new safety operating procedures when moving flammable tank cars. Speculating. Good news for all train fans.

Great video, Tom. It's fun seeing a caboose in action.

You just saw a military railroad move. Looks like a unit train of fuel, possibly JP-4, JP-5 or even bunker oil (we still have many ships using diesel and oil engines). That was quite a large train, so I would figure it is going to a Naval shipyard or Naval Air facility. The hopper in the front of the train and the flats on the rear are "buffer" cars required for haz-mat movements. The DODX caboose probably carried DoD personnel and/or security guards for the cargo.
I am retired DoD/Dept of the Navy. Somewhat familiar with these things.
Also, UP has been moving quite a bit of military hardware lately. Entire trains of tanks, vehicles, supplies, aircraft parts and assemblies among other things. There are quite a few of YouTube videos out there showing this.
