Of the 3 diesels I have my favorite is the LionChief Plus FEC GP38. Florida is my adopted home and the FEC runs through Vero Beach. LionChief Plus FEC GP38 by Joe, on Flickr I will eventually find a New York Central EMD covered wagon and when I do that will be my favorite, but for now it's the FEC GP38.

No, No, No... I can't decide. Diesels are my thing. At a very young age, I used to watch the Steam Hudsons pull into Freeport, ME. We moved to Florida and I never saw another active steamer. The Atlantic coastline RR serviced Venice, Florida which was the winter home of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailye Circus. It was a big deal when they arrived and departed on tour. Diesels were the motive power. In 1968 I hitched rides on Freights between Cincinnati and New Orleans. Lots of fun. So diesels are my thing. You choose. _ I like all of them, diesels are more my thing also, if I had to decide for you I'd take the gp7 UP's.

Wood, since you can't decide I'll decide for you. It's definitely the New York Central Heritage Unit (SD70?). That is, IMHO, by far and away the cream of the crop. I also like the Amtrak engines a lot.
You have a great collection of engines. I can understand why it's difficult for you to pick a favorite.

You are the Sante Fe F unit KING, Wood. Beautiful collection! Thanks Brian. I have all the Lionel command Santa Fe units. It certainly is one of my favorites. You did notice the F59PHI Surfliner. I could not resist because it is the best of the K-Line F units. So glad it is where it belongs.

It is a fantasy paint scheme but it looks beautiful on the layout. The superliners are suburb and the SD80MAC is a great runner. Thanks for the compliment on the collection. This is not a typical collection, the goal is to have terrific runners on the layout. Operations are a big part of my hobby. Fortunately the engines and cars in my collection are terrific runners and they get their paces often. If I crash it or wear it out, which happens, it gets replaced.

What a perfect match to the K-Line 21" Surfliner passener cars. This engine was made to match these cars.
