Another vendor who seems to be done with York. Apparently he just wants to visit. That's alright too. I just wish this show was his last as I wanted to spend some time at his booth. Ah well, I'll just use the internet and the phone.

I just did a fair amount of damage over the past month. So were it not for the relaxation of heading out to York just to enjoy the social angle, I could easily skip the trip altogether. Years ago, we “needed” to attend in order to see all those trains. Today we can be bombarded by toy trains 24x7x365 via the Internet, and it’s (finally) hitting home in spades at many levels.

Very much so. On a somewhat related note, I heard MB Klein is closing their retail store in Maryland -- going 100% Internet sales. You can't fight the math. Having a retail store appears to be a liability for many business models. Warehouse space is OK for online sales. But having a retail shop and paying staff to run it seems to cut too far into profits.
