"And yes, it has happened, Train Horn Wars. " Now that would be a 'blast' !!!!!!!!!! John, yeah it's happened quite a bit over the years. One summer evening I remember the Amish on the corner blew their K5LA and then 2 minutes later the Septic Company did theirs and then followed by the P5 down road, and then I joined in. It was very very cool. Everyone in the area loves the sound. The Amish with the K5LA have been doing it 10 years now and the P5 is about 13 to 14 years. So they've been here a long time. I started back in 2014. So I was a little late to the party to get a horn, but out here in the country on a quiet evening or day, the echo is awesome!!!!! A couple videos I added below so you can hear the echo's.

Out of the horns I own, this is my favorite. That RS3L in person is a beauty to hear.
Plus the P3 is very very nice. Every time I blow it, I think of SP, SRW & CP.

And yes I do have a whistle as well. This runs off Air. This one is an air hogger meaning I'll start off at 150psi and be down to 60 to 70psi in less then 10 seconds unless I have the compressor on. It's completely brass. I blow this sometimes when it can be heard on a quiet evening. In this video below I blew it inside our model train business, (when nobody was in their accept me), which was very loud, but gave a nice echo.

That whistle is fantastic! I'd use that to wake up my teenagers every morning if I had one.

The horns are indeed cool, but give me the whistle every time.
