Great product, even for us tinplate nuts. Here are a few shots of what can be done with their products. This train, the Hiawatha made by JAD lines, had Christmas tree lights in the cars, and just one bulb in the loco for the headlight and marker lights; in 1974, when this set was built, it was probably the best technology available. What a difference 45 years makes!! John

I am absolutely dedicated to Evan Designs products. Not least because they make up for some of my ignorance on things electronic! Delighted to see them onboard.

Here's my first crack at a video on OGF, in this case showing use of an Evan Designs LED product.
This is the charcoal broiler in the "Sam Houston" dining car kitchen I have posted about on another thread. Under the coals there's an LED fire effect module from a different supplier that did not produce a very visible effect - in fact you can't really see either in the video or through the car windows the slight glowing coal effect it produces (but it was intended for smaller scales). To ramp this up I added an Evan Designs fire effect three LED set above the grill. This runs on AC track power (rectifier and effect module are built-in). The great advantage of this is that it is small enough to be fitted wholly inside the car interior and it is simple to hook up.

I have had similar success with Evan Designs fire effect 3 LED set. I used it create the flicking fire effect in the Hobo/Ghost campfire on top on the Polar Express. It works great!

The detail in the kitchen is fabulous but the fire effect in the broiler is way over and above super detailing. Outstanding job!

Emile, the campfire is a detail that really brings the PE to life. Excellent work.

Evans Designs website seem to be a great resource for not only buying LEDs, but also learning how to use them. This will be very good for me as lighting is something I want to focus more on. Very nice addition to our ever growing forum!

I use them also.......great for lighting effects. I have a very small Marklin HO layout my father gave me one Christmas in the 60’s that I recently set up in an Alien theme that uses All Evan lighting special effects....heres a video of it in action which is similar to my previously posted Alien video but featuring my ho scale layout. -Pete youtu.be/7u1mOjCCwYo

I use their LEDs on my Williams GG1's. Question...I cannot get the headlight to work on my Lionel Century Club Pennsy Turbine, after I dropped it. I even replaced the bulb. Can I just hot wire a led into that steamer the same way I did the Williams GG1's?
