Part of our layout is a growing Car Show made up of mostly Brooklin models. I am a big fan of Woody's and the color yellow. Brooklin has made three models of Woody's in yellow, all very rare and hard to find. I called on my friend Charlie to help me complete the "Big Three". The best approach for me was in two cases to find the same model in a different color. Recently, Charlie took on a black 1949 Buick Roadmaster that had been tortured by a previous owner. What a difference when he worked his magic. Charlie said it was one of the nicest models he has worked with in terms of add-on upgrades. He is now working on the last of the Big Three that was also received as a wreck. This project will be in the upcoming O-Gauge Magazine, Christmas Edition. Before:After:

Brian, the car looks considerably better in yellow and brown. Charlie did a great job. I look forward to seeing your latest car in the Christmas issue of our magazine.

One of the nicest things about Brooklin model 1:43 scale vehicles is how easy they can be disassembled for repair and repainting. There are lots of things that you can do to make good even better. Case in point. I recently purchased an unusual Brooklin taxicab custom painted in cream with a green top. I have enough taxicabs for the layout, but this one stood out. It arrived with scratch marks on the roof and the taxi sign was missing. Somewhere between England and here, it got messed with. The seller was terrific to work with, gave me a partial refund, and is sending me a new taxicab sign. The roof will be repainted and we will be back to a factory fresh Code 3 Model. Just prior to shipping:

Thanks Tom. I sure like it MUCH BETTER in yellow with the chocolate brown roof. Brooklin calls this model their Pebble Beach/Bing Crosby model (in yellow). It was a special run for the San Francisco Bay Area Brooklin Club.
