“How about this to get your attention on a Friday morning. Project code name “Bigtime” has been in the works for the past several weeks. The idea for an OGF engine started as soon as we announced the OGF 2020 Cylindrical Hopper Club Car as members wanted an engine to go with this growing train. The voices only grew louder when the 2021 OGF Club Car Caboose was announced. As soon as our caboose project was turned over to Harry Hieke for completion, the OGF Product Development Team went straight to work on this engine. Weeks of dedicated effort have gone into the design of our OGF engine # 2022. We were going for something distinct, colorful but classy, and would receive widespread acclaim for accomplishing a stylish design not found anywhere else in our hobby. We hope you agree that this is a beautiful addition to the growing OGF train. Lionel has played a key role for project “Bigtime”. They have allowed us to dovetail on their all-new SD70 ACE engine to be announced in their upcoming 2021 Big Book catalog. Because of Lionel’s cooperation and important concessions, this project is now a reality. Our OGF SD70 ACE will run on 0-36 curves that most O-Gauge enthusiasts can accommodate on their layouts. It is important to also recognize the role that Classic Toy Trains is playing in project “Bigtime”. They have provided us with a free ad that will appear in the upcoming February issue due to hit the newsstands in December 2020. This will expose a large portion of the O-Gauge community to us (many who may not have heard of us before) to our OGF engine offering and combined with the large number of our daily guests, it will help us to increase sales and at the same time, attract new members. OGF members will have a significant pricing advantage, but non-members who purchase our engine can also take advantage of member pricing by joining the OGF after placing an order. Win-win . Want one, we hope so as it will greatly help to promote the OGF. As soon as the pricing is finalized with Lionel, we will open the OGF Shop for you to place your order. You will be very pleased to learn that as in all our Club Car/Engine projects to date, our engine will be offered at breakeven cost. The OGF engine will be an outstanding value and will be sold at a price lower than anywhere else in the marketplace for a beautiful 2021 Lionel Legacy SD70 ACE engine. Please understand, this is a one-time opportunity for you to own an OGF factory-direct engine at considerable savings. It is doubtful that undertaking a project like “Bigtime” and the concessions we have negotiated would be possible again.”

Okay, THAT IS BIG. Who would have ever thought that OGF would have their own engine. I know many that have to lease an engine, but to actually own one with your logo on it is tremendous. Good going for all involved. Something I never expected.

Hey Brian; yes, very colorful and should be noticed anywhere on the layout. I see that pricing will come later but do you have a ETA on when pricing might be available?

Hopefully soon, Charlie. Lionel has to finalize their pricing (retail & dealer) for the 2021 Big Book Catalog. This catalog is due out in early January and it has to be printed, so I would expect we won't have to wait very long.
Also, depending on our credit terms with Lionel, we may be able to offer a down payment feature with the balance due before shipping. This should help with the budget!!!!!!

While not my thing (I don't do fantasy paint schemes). This is very impressive to say the least. No other O gauge forum has done this. Amazing the giant steps you guys of the O gauge forum brain trust have taken. I'm sure this will be a big seller. Congrats.

Has anyone noticed the white cab roof? Here's the story. In the real world of trains, manufacturers are painting the cab roofs white to help with the hot sun in the summer that increases the temperature inside the cab. We may have the first O-Gauge engine that is prototypical in this regard. Sure, there are other basically white engines that have been done, but none that I can think of with this specific design feature.
Our OGF Product Development Team is way ahead of the curve.

Thanks Gary for your kind remarks.
Adam, Emile, Charlie and Wood were terrific to work with. That's no surprise as they are really smart.
