They're supposed to be shipping from Lionel to dealers/distributors as we speak. I'm seriously thinking about the Great Northern livery. But there's no way I was gonna pre-order one, since Lionel got the green color SO FAR OFF THE MARK on their Great Northern 2-6-6-2 a couple of years ago. Seriously.... how many DECADES has Lionel been producing Great Northern products? And they go and screw-up the color on an otherwise nice-looking articulated locomotive? I refuse to be the guinea pig for Lionel's factory quality control issues anymore.

John, Take a look on facebook/youtube demos with Dave (Dave Olson), from yesterday. He had the Bethlehem Steel version and you could hear the sounds.

I like the PRR version with the straight tender. It sort of back dates the engine as opposed to having the slope back tender. I like both types but it is nice to see something different as opposed to the K-Line PRR 0-6-0 I have...

Saw the posting on Facebook, no YouTube video. Demo Days with Dave Olson. no bicolor LED marker lamps. Sounds are great. 5 different whistles sound fantastic. Dave says the M1a engine is coming back! save your money...

LOL... I hear you on the 2-6-6-2 green... really hurt my eyes... I passed. But if the green is like the GN Atlantic than it will be a keeper.

This is the 1908-9 strengthening of the approaches on the 2nd Panhandle bridge across the Ohio at Steubenville. Take a good look at the tenders next to the steam powered cranes. Yep, they're slopebacks. But it is nice to see a different tender on these locomotives. Of course, this engine has been reproduced a number of times. George

I agree, it seems most were slopebacks. The PRR certainly did favor them.

The multiple whistle feature is cool. Now if Lionel comes thru with the correct GN green on this model, we'll be in business.
