I finished this Long Island boxcar today. It is a Weaver Scale O car with Weaver style MTH trucks and couplers. I painted it with Scalecoat II boxcar red. The decals are Tichy decals. I find these decals are kind of time consuming to work with. I had to do the white glue bit to get the logo to stay flat. I tried four different decal setting solutions and the decals resisted them all. It came out okay. I gave it two coats of gloss clear coat and then a final flat finish... Tom

Another great looking job Tom.
I was wondering if your adding weight to any of these cars while you have them apart? I know the Weaver and Crown and some others are very light.

Tom Never having worked with Tichy Decals, is this a know or inherited problem not sticking to a glossy finish?

Nice work Tom. I don't think my hands are steady enough to pull that off.

Thanks guys!
Randy, the cars come with weights in them for the most part. This car is heavier than a comparable MTH car, especially when I add the die cast trucks. Some of the Weaver cars will need weights however....
Josef, Tichy provides the special instructions as their propensity to not stick is known. They say it only occurs on the larger, multicolor decals, but I have had it happen with single color decals that are on the large side. They are okay to work with, just use their directions...
