Ship it Fast: The FedEx Freight Building from Menards! Shop Now >
Dimensions: 12”W x 6”D x 5-1/2”H
The Basics: This a fully assembled and decorated modern freight terminal. FedEx has an office, two warehouse doors, and a moving forklift. The building’s footprint is 12 inches wide, 6 inches deep, and 5-1/2 inches tall. The model has exterior illumination provided by 24 LEDs, and a forklift with load. The building is designed for use with the Menards Plug & Play 4.5-volt power supply, sold separately.
Check Menards SKUs 279-4061, 279-4062, or 279-4050. You may wish to consider the 8- or 9-piece Plug & Play accessory kits (SKU# 279-4035, 4681) and to serve multiple structures and vehicles. All are available separately.
Why you need this: This building is as modern as it gets. If you have a FedEx store nearly, you probably have a FedEx distribution center in the area. Taking center stage is a bold purple and orange company sign. Just below the logo are two warehouse doors, one closed, one is open. When powered up, a motorized forklift moves out on the loading dock, then backs up, and repeats the cycle. Jack is to the left of the forklift, no doubt keeping an eye out for a shipment of dog treats.
The loading dock has a simulated cinder block foundation with yellow and black safety stripes at the edge. The surface of the dock has a concrete appearance. The left side of the building has an office extending out slightly from the building. It has a window and door, and a FedEx worker is about to enter. An American flag is positioned at the corner of the building.
Additional details include three shrubs, cargo boxes on the forklift and on the dock, and two HVAC units on the roof.
If your layout is focused on contemporary railroading, you can add few structures that say ‘Today’ better than the FedEx Freight Building.
