Tim, I voted for the Premier sound file because I think you want to run it as a contemporary steam excursion. If not for that the excursion passenger announcements the Railking sound file would be fine. In fact, if you were going to use is as a 1950s train I'd stick with the Railking sounds.

I have to agree with the Premier sound file because of the announcements. The last time I did an MTH sound file update it was so easy that I can't think of any downside to trying out a new file.

I agree as well. The premier sound file is awesome and I really enjoy the announcements too. Go with that!

Thanks for your response Joe, The sound file on my J now is the similar sound file that was on the last tun which simulated the first run from Spencer to Roanoke. I like it but like everyone else on this thread, I’m gonna change it to better reflect no matter how many cars I have, it would sound right. 17 cars on my J alone now would kill it.

I got my J back this evening and I forgot since it was a Premier Sound file, I got the quilling whistle too. The repair tech is getting a big gift because for the whole change over it took roughly 3 hours to change everything over.

I too agree with your choice. The poll won't let me vote. It says poll expired or closed.

Not being a fan of MTH sounds period, I'd say leave it alone. I hardly ever use the passenger announcements. When it comes to MTH lackluster chuffing and engine sounds I see/hear no real difference between the two. But with that said your engine, your choice. Do what ever betters your hobby experience.
