You have a great space there Jason. Looks nice and comfortable. Love your clean walls which will give you the opportunity for nice backdrops. The black ceiling will hide all of the house structure. I am a little suprised at the lighting. Will you leave those fixtues as dropped lights? I used track lighting with adjustable LED lamps. It looks clean and gives the opportunity to rearange as you build the layout. I am sure you have a plan. I'll wait to see how it works out.

Well done Jason and Charlie!! Black paint sure has a nice way of making things visually disappear. Everything looks nice and crisp! Very well done. We were out yesterday and missed your live stream...hope it went well. Gary.

No those dropped fixtures have already been removed and replaced with track lights I'll post some pictures when I get home this evening. You won't be disappointed. - Jason

.... No those dropped fixtures have already been removed and replaced with track lights I'll post some pictures when I get home this evening. You won't be disappointed. I don't doubt it. I can say from first-hand experience... that once you light the room properly with track lighting (wall-washers for backdrops, floods for general layout coverage, and spots for particular scenes), you will NEVER be satisfied with anything less.
We kept the original recessed room lights in the ceiling tiles for my train room, plus over 4 dozen LED wall-washers, floods and spots). And I just turn on the regular room lights, the layout looks "drab". Bring up the REAL LIGHTS, and the layout is transformed into an eye-popping work of art. Literally like night-and-day.
My only regret is we kept the ceiling white from when the basement was first finished. If I had to do it over again, I'd go with black ceiling tiles and black tracks/heads.

Jason the train room is looking great. Did you float the carpet or is it glued down?

Jason the train room is looking great. Did you float the carpet or is it glued down? The carpet is glued down. Here's a picture of it being applied. You wait until it dries clear and then stick the carpet tiles down individually. They hold it place very well. - Jason

Here is an updated picture with the track lights installed. There are 12 light fixtures so far. There will be many MANY more added over time. - Jason

Jason, your basement train room looks fabulous. You and Charlie have done a lot of work but it was worth it.
I love your trackplan.
