Joe,
Great pictures! I agree, its amazing how much cars have influenced music and guitars.
I'm a guitar guy as well. My favorite brands are G&L and PRS. Its a fun instrument to listen to and play. Much like trains, guitars are more of a hobby for me. I like to play, but mostly it is by myself or occasionally with a friend or two. Not much time at all of a band. I tend to be more train obsessed these days, but the occasional guitar playing session is good for variety.

I find I play them less and I play more with trains as time goes by

Great thread Joe. I'm partial to Gibson Guitars with Gretsch and Martin close behind. The last time I played was over a year ago though I still have my Les Paul Jr and a Takamine acoustic.
Cars and guitars, good stuff.

I don't remember if it was a 62 or 63, but it was a good car for a young fella. OK, it wasn't an XKE, my dream car at the time, but it got me around and was good on gas.

When I was around 18 my dream car was a Jaguar XKE. Around 10 years later my dream car was a Cadillac Eldorado. This is a '55 Eldorado convertible.

When I was 17 my father used to let me drive his 1966 Cadillac.
My dream car was a 1960s VW van. Never did get one.....

I never got an XKE or an Eldorado, but I did own a Caddy Sedan DeVille that I bought used for a very good price. Later in life (much later) I owned a Mercedes C300, a sporty and fun car, a Mercedes E350, a regal touring car, and my current BMW X1, a practical but sporty little SUV that's fun to drive. Remember, it's the Ultimate Driving Machine! I've been blessed to own some fine cars, so even though I never got near an XKE or an Eldorado I'd say I did OK...but...if I ever get the chance to drive a 1968 XKE convertible I sure won't pass it up.

Thanks for the link, Gary. Even though I've heard that song many times I'd completely forgotten about it.
