No, No, No... I'm sure very few will renew w/o a train show. However, will not their operating expense be reduced as well? I am sure they can weather the storm until the next meet in Oct 2021. The TCA has several full time employees to run the museum, library and to manage the organization. There is also the upkeep on the building. These expenses with reduced income may became a serious issue for the TCA. Are the employees not on furlough? Most employees are now making more staying at home? Upkeep? Is it not closed? I am sure they will be fine for a year.

Looking back at history the pandemic of 1919 - 1920 eventually ended and so will this.
Life will get back to normal soon enough. I believe that....

TCA is important as are many of the other train organizations. They bring members together and enhance the sprit of the hobby. I do like York. I learn so much there and meet so many people and become friends with many of them. It is a little lonely when you are the only one in your basement and have no one to share your accomplishments with or learn new tricks from.

To answer Scott's question, I don't think it'll be the end. It'll slow down like everything else is, but there's still lots of people who enjoy the hobby that will keep them all going. I love the TCA events and functions because I love being around the trains and the people. It sure beats a thumb in the eye! I'm patient and will be there when the York Meet and any local shows come back.
In the mean time, I'm building my temporary layout. The Mianne bench work is awesome! I was suppose to wait for my Grandson to come over and work with me, but I couldn't wait!! I wanted to post some pictures but my picture sizes are over the limits of the Forum.

I say no. They will return, but maybe not as we know them now for a while anyway. I think ( hope ) by april 2021 we will see them again in some capacity or another. I was suppose to be a seller at one in Columbia, S.C. this past April, which got canceled. at present it is rescheduled for this Oct. we will see. I don't hold my breath on it. I'm hoping Maybe come April next year.

I wanted to post some pictures but my picture sizes are over the limits of the Forum. Traindiesel - Same problem for me. There are 3 ways to fix the problem of picture size. You can adjust your camera by going into settings and set your resolution rate to a lower level or you can load your pictures into a photo viewer and resize them slightly then save it in your picture files.. I do the latter and it isn't that complicated or time consuming. Most new cell phones take pride in high resolution photos that no forum can accomodate. It even happens when I text a photo. My phone gives me an option to resize. I always choose "medium" and don't see a signifcant difference. The last way is to use an online image company. I use Imgur . You load your picture up to the site and it creates a link which you paste into the post and it can be any size picture but it displays the picture like below.

I fix this by taking a wider shot than I intend, then crop it (aka Zoom it) on the computer. The image is usually within the file size image when I do that.

Good gosh, guys.... what size files are your cameras generating? I have pro cameras that don't have any issues with file-size. We're not loading RAW files here -- just a simple screen-resolution JPEG should do fine.

Beautiful photo WOODMAN!!
Hey David, Cheryl and I treated ourselves to a new Panasonic Luminex FZ1000II MIRROLESS HYBRID DSLR for Christmas. We will be using a VANGUARD ALTA PRO 263 AB 100 tripod. We chose this model for a lot of reasons. One of them being the 1600mm lens and the fact that photos taken with it can be enlarged to 3'x2' without any pixelization. Full video capability as well. Does an awful lot more too. Finally getting around to learning the function now as the tripod only arrived recently. As I become more proficient with it and the temps go below 107 degrees F I will post some photos from it.
Also without letting the cat out of the bag stay tuned for some great tutorials and tips from one of our valued Corporate Sponsors who also happens to be a Professional Photographer!
Gary.

I don't know whether or not National Train Clubs will survive. I am probably not going to renew my TCA membership which expires in August. I renewed last year so I could attend the National Convention in Jacksonville but that was cancelled. Since I live in Florida I have little chance to get to York and get very little benefit from my membership so I most likely won't renew.
