Personally, I want a fire engine that looks like a fire engine. This looks like a toy.

We all look at things differently. It does look small to me but I’d probably be OK with it. From a distance it looks like a Firetruck. I mostly model toy train scales and I don’t tend to be concerned with things being perfect. But I can also see how others would be disappointed.

When I was on the first aid squad in the 70s we had a truck like that with 6 flood lights on each side. It was also filled with emergency gear for whatever was needed.

Looking for fire trucks on line indicated this may be a rebadged Corgi vehicle.

I'll say it's way too small....and that's a shame. And NYC? Blasphemy!!!
Being an active firefighter, I'm always looking for something that will fit the layout and without having to pay the Code 3 price.....
In the Spring/Summer section, along with the MTH Firehouse, there will be the house on fire and have the appropriate fire response: 2 pumpers, a ladder and rescue. Will need a BLS unit for first aid but not a priority this minute. If you recall, the MTH House on Fire has a working hose with water....oh, yeah, I'm having all that, lol!!!
The Station 12 from Menards is a winner in my book, would be a great sub-station on the layout......

Here is a comparison of Menard's fire truck and a 1:43 fire truck. Yes but your comparing a regular fire truck to what should be a field truck, in my viewing of it. Also I look at these as toys not scale replicas that you would spend around 5 - 10 times as much for.

Here is truck in a Plasticville Firehouse. Don, I think the truck looks great in the Plasticville firehouse, perfect for a toy train layout.
