I’ve got a confession. I’m fascinated with General Stores and related businesses like the old Chemist, Druggist or the 5&10. These little businesses, while struggling are still around in many small towns. New England is know for them. We have a great little General Store in the center of our town. They are often more than a business. They act as town gathering places, landmarks, pubs, restaurant and inspiration. I’ve got two on my layout. I’d love to see your General Stores!

Adam, I do like this thead idea, however it appears not many of us have a general store, myself included. I have fond memories of the F.W. Woolworth store in Freeport, ME when I was a child in the early 50's. It was the place for household supplies, clothing, "notions", pets, small inexpensive toys and ice cream at the "Lunch" counter. My Mother often took us there and we were able to get permission for a small one dollar toy of our choice.

I’ve got similar fond memories Wood. In the NJ town we lived in there was a 5&10 store and I remember picking toys from the toy section. Of course I’d play with it for maybe an hour before it became boring.

Those were the days, Adam. Love your feature on "small" establishments. We have many.

The closest things I have to a general store on my layout are Johnson's Pharmacy or the IGA.

A couple additional zoomed in photos of the Druggist store from MTH. Great detail in this building!

Somewhere under the layout is a completed Woolworth’s building that we completed several years ago. Gotta complete the second level track so that we can get it and others out of their boxes.

Couple of other small businesses on my layout. Both of these are 3D printed. In the foreground is the Penske Truck Rental service. In the background is the Post Office (one of the villains in my layout is standing on top of it).
