R.J., thanks for posting this article. I didn't know about this train. We could use something like the Freedom Train today.

That is a very interesting read, and so might be the authors’ recent book referred to at the end. Of course the late 40s was a different era but this is still inspirational.

MTH produced a nice Freedom Train. Something I missed. What did set consist of? Was this MTH or Rail King? Thanks MTH did the Freedom passenger train in 2018. Catalog # 20-40057 O Scale Premier 4-Car 70' Madison Passenger Set. K Line also produced one and Lionel (I think) did a GS-4 version.
