Hi to all! Here is a solution for an old problem that we faced more than one time, specially with wood engraved signage. Engraved signage is one piece where letters and background are not separated but should be painted with different colors. Smeared paint is the most frustrating thing that could happen, making the sign looks simply bad. For the white letter we will recommend paint pen, basically is like a marker but with oil base white paint. very useful and accurate, but smear specially on small fonts or when the point is too wet with paint. The background water base black paint. Bad not everything is frustration. Because is Oil base we will retouch all the smear white spot with water base black paint (previously used to paint the whole sign) and clean at the same time the top letter surface making look perfect!! The water base paint doesn't adhere to the oil base paint so quick, giving us enough time to clean it with excellent result! Problem Solved!!
Andre.

I can barely sign my name so I don't think I can do it. It is very interesting though That is a great tip, Andre. Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat as Denny. With my shaky hands building anything is just about impossible. Fortunately there is so much pre-built and ready to run in O Gauge that building a nice layout is within the reach of everyone in spite of our physical shortcomings.
When I was younger with steady hands I loved to build kits like Andre makes. There is a satisfaction to building something that I don't get with a pre-built structure but right now I'm grateful that MTH, Menards and others make buildings that are ready to go.

For me it's nerve damage from a motorcycle accident. Thank God for pre-builts.
