Gary is in charge of Public Relations for the OGF. Keeping us informed of train events demonstrates that he is on the job.
Thanks Gary.

Thanks Gary. I attended the GREAT NEW YORK STATE MODEL TRAIN FAIR 10 years ago and had a nice time. It was all in one large warehouse and had some layouts and a fair amount of Vendor tables. At that time there weren't any National manufacturers. It was more like a very good local Train Meet. This year they are advertising 30+ layouts and 300 vendors so it seems to be a lot bigger than it was 10 years ago. Either way, if anyone is planning to be in the Syracuse area on Nov 2-3, it is definitely worth a visit. Emile

That's right Emile. The vendors spaces are sold out! Syracuse is not far from us so I think we'll head down for the Saturday. Syracuse is a city with a lot of history and they just might have a tiny CSX yard there. LOL!

Syracuse is a city with a lot of history and they just might have a tiny CSX yard there. LOL! Gary. That's a good trip. Downtown Syracuse has one of the largest collections of Art-Deco architecture still standing so I recommend a nice walk around the downtown and Armory Square with your camera. Even better, the Syracuse Railroad history is almost 200 years old (1831) and is an early part of the formation of the New York Central so there’s plenty of old Railroad photo opportunities as well. Don’t forget to stop by the famous Dinosaur’s Ribs when you’re downtown. But the best “Local” jewel is only a few miles north of Syracuse in Liverpool, NY where you will find Heid’s of Liverpool. Heid’s is a 100 year old Hot Dog stand and is a Central New York landmark. It’s worth the drive for a “Hofmann Snappy” which is an odd looking White hot dog that tastes great. Have fun! Emile

So true. So many Canadians just go to shop. We spent 4 days there last September at the Jefferson Clinton Hotel. The Armoury District has been completely redone. Great bars and restaurants. Syracuse has really upped their tourism game. A lot of Civil War history as well.

Cheryl and I are planning to attend this one. With all vendor spots filled it could be a good.
