If the GS4 was not enough, the Big Boy gets a face-lift as well.

That is nice! Big Boy 4012 is the engine that is in Steamtown at Scranton, PA. Last fall is was getting a cosmetic restoration, not sure if it's done.

HV, I just checked their website. The BB restoration is not complete and the Park is closed until further notice.

Steam town was a great place to visit. BB 2012 was in need of some help. the Tender was peeling quite a bit. Can you imagine if they got this one running again? They have the talent there.

YEAH JDADDY!! It sure would be nice to see that baby run here in the East. I will hit STEAMTOWN when the Park is open and #4012 is back on display! If Lionel ever does another run of coal burners, #4012 is the model we want.

I don't think they have any plans to make it functional. Last I heard the restoration was cosmetic only. Too bad, it would be a nice to have a functional Big Boy in this area. Though I'm not sure the surrounding tracks can handle the weight.

Yeah you would tons of cash. Plus running anywhere would require class 1 rail size. But I always say with enough time and money ...never say never. Look at the Bessemer engine that was saved in Pittsburgh... Many said they would never get it out.

The park is closed to visitors, I guess the maintenance shed is down as well. There haven't been any updates since Feb. 21st. Maybe things will get rolling again in the next month or two.
