Yes, Lionel was doing these for free. I don't know if they are still doing for free??? I know the charging system in the 990 base is problematic.

Fab, it is easy to call them. Click on the link below and you will see the number. I have had a problem with the CAB2 not finding the base. 3 times to be exact. I called, arranged for a repair, sent it back, all at no cost to me. Lionel Support

well, they won't repair. suggested reinstalling software. i will try.

Yes, Lionel was doing these for free. I don't know if they are still doing for free??? I know the charging system in the 990 base is problematic. My base has stopped charging the remote batteries. I use a separate AA battery charger.
