Elizabeth and I were talking this morning about my being a paperboy as a kid. I learned a lot about people at an early age. One of my routes was the Sunday Paper. It dawned on me how similar the OGF is to what use to be a quality Sunday paper (late 40's, early 50's). There was the front page with breaking headline news stories, the editorial page for opinions, special interest stories and projects, and of course the comics (funny papers). And yes, we have funny threads. My customers so looked forward to the Sunday paper as it was their entertainment for the day.
Not much different with the OGF. Correct?

Your buddy C T was in the funny papers when I was growing up. Back then he was called Dennis.

Brian, your comparison is right on. The OGF is a daily version of what a quality Sunday newspaper used to be. 👌

I am impressed. Terrific comments and I like the funny element as well. In the world we live in now, funny is good.

Couldn't agree more but I find it troublesome that the noble spirit of the entrepreneur CT, and with it the very institution of the Christmas Tree, is attacked from places as far apart as the Virginia shore and north of the (closed) border. Such inspiring words of wisdom came from he who is undoubtedly CT's ancestor, PT, that I feel obliged to repeat them: “The noblest art is that of making others happy” ... “No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else.” ... “Nobody ever lost a dollar by underestimating the taste of the American public.” These days, the last might be "made a dollar by overestimating . . ."

Worry not, Andy. CT's noble work is not effected in the least by these rouge comments. He says it comes with the territory as a respectable business leader. To go further, he points the finger straight at Mortimer Loliefe, who operates a competing Christmas Tree business in the City, for his ineffective campaign to discredit. It is having the opposite effect as CT's business is soaring. So he says to the two gentlemen you refer to, PLEASE keep up your good work. You picked the wrong guy with Loliefe to partner with.
