Beautiful set. You made the right choice by pulling the trigger on it.

Wow! Very nice photos Wood and you’re very welcome! I’d seen photos of your SF F3 sets before, along with your beautiful layout, which looks like it was made for two Super Chief trains anyway. 😉 I knew this later set would go well with what you already have, which is why I couldn’t resist doing a little coaxing. 😁
Anyway, you’re a good sport and I’m glad you got it. After all, it was meant to be and they look great on your layout. Nice going. 👍

EXCELLENT CHOICE, if I may say so. You've landed a treasure.
I now find myself in great company - or great minds think alike and I am accidentally in your club. I have the two sets that comprise these cars, too. I have always believed that they deserve the PTC Seal of Approval, which is the highest O scale passenger car award in the universe.
But - bathroom picture? Ah, that one. I'll hold fire on that for a while. What struck me on peering at your post was that fine quality high res photos such as yours, Wood, often reveal detail you might miss looking at the cars in person. For example, your photo of the Vista Dome shows wipers molded in to the detail of the three front windows. That's prototypical and I don't remember noticing it on mine before.
These are beautiful cars and Lionel actually crowed about them (in comparison to K-Line) at the time the 4-car set was issued. I very much hope they have something to brag about again soon. Meanwhile, I'm very glad indeed that these cars are in your hands.

Wonderful move, Wood, this set is a gem. As much as you love the Sante Fe, this set is a must have for you.
Mission accomplished. A shout-out to Vern for bringing this set to your attention.

Thank you Brian and Harborbelt. I am very glad to have the 2 sets. I have a roster of the 2002 Santa Fe F3's. This will allow them to run together.
It was only when I posted the pictures that I recognized those windshield wipers. Had to look at the dome and sure enough there they were.

Yes I did and it was one of the first things I noticed when they were first run on my layout. Love it. 😉

Congas on the new set, Wood. Both sets are beautiful but I like the 2003 set just a little bit better. Your excellent photos really show off just how nice these cars are. 👍
