I was placing some passenger figures into convertibles today and started to work on a Franklin Mint model. As I was CAREFULLY placing the figure in the drivers seat and securing it with hot glue, the plastic simulated glass windshield fell out followed by the windshield frame. It is a model that I purchased a couple of months ago as new. I was able to re-secure the windshield and frame, but the quality is very disappointing. I did not pay a lot for this model, but this will be the last Franklin Mint model that I buy.
Bottom line, you get what you pay for and then some.

So true Brian. I often say that I can't afford to buy cheap because it's much too expensive. If something is cheap it's cheap for a reason. I know there are exceptions and sometimes you can get a quality item at a bargain price but that's the rare exception. As a general rule, you get what you pay for.

I have many inexpensive vehicles on our layout and the quality is much better than the Franklins.

That's a shame Brian....the Franklin Mint Models appeared to be pretty good in the photos you and I have looked at. Gary.

Gary, in this case, the photos are deceiving. No problem, I just am a better informed buyer. These vehicles will get a new role as fillers. But, you now have the benefit of my experience.
