This was a junk bin Walthers full length 0 scale car, less power brick. I needed a shorter version (they used to make one), so I chopped it. Some Texas Special FA or something power brick, used an old filed wound hand reverse under the carbody, added interior, paint and deca ls.

Nice. I like the RPO section on this. I wonder if it was an inspection car in an earlier life...

Most of these, due to branch line service, did passengers (sometimes with a second coach) baggage and even RPO for outlying communities. Somewhere I have a mail pouch hook I could attach by the door.
But right now, gotta go put a bubble flare on the clutch line on the Jag.

Love them Doodlebugs. Been looking for a Chicago Northwestern one to add since they did come to my hometown.
