They could probably have the Meet done safely by limiting the attendance. Maybe they can only allow a maximum of 8,000 attendees or so.
Oh, wait.......

If it's the place I'm thinking, I've stopped visiting quite some time ago. They've removed the search function for "guests". And I have better things to do with my time then brute force eye-ball searches, when there's a better than 50/50 chance that content is deleted anyway. So I guess I'll wait until July 28 to see the official cancellation.

It’s not the TCA’s fault that the virus forced everything to close. TCA income is certainly down, and i am sure their expenses are the same. TCA needs our support now more than ever. $50 isn’t going to make, or break me. I want TCA and York to be around when the virus is done, so I will renew my membership.

I here you loud and clear Craig. We have not joined TCA ourselves as the GREAT LAKES REGION does encompass Ontario. Locally there is nothing around us and those people involved in O Gauge where we live seem to be a very closed off bunch. Therefore anything and everything that we have to do with trains are done with people on OGF. I can see ourselves becoming members of TCA whenever we get back to York. I'm hoping we are able to be part of an American chapter that is reasonably close to where we live.
Gary.

Remember even without York you still get the TCA magazine with your membership: The Train Collectors Quarterly, that is worth something.

The EDTCA website homepage appears out of date. Its home page still has the cancellation letter for the April 2020 show.
It is a bit interesting that the list of future York shows now begins with April 2021. No mention of an October 2020 three-day event as planned after the April event was cancelled earlier this year.

The good news is April 2021 York is showing a 3 day show event. Not 2.

Remember fellows that the April 2021 is still in doubt. masks will have to be worn till the 4th quarter of 2021 according to the CDC and Dr Fauci.
Don't celebrate just yet.

I don't think that we will all need masks in April. I am sure we will have the vaccine way before then.

The good news is April 2021 York is showing a 3 day show event. Not 2. I think that's a recent change, John. That's another indicator that October 2020 will be canceled. It's just a matter of the official word coming down first from the Fairgrounds folks (or the Governor), and then the EDTCA.

Just a thought, maybe with the possibility of missing three straight York Meets members and vendors will look at attending differently. Maybe vendors will have missed the exposure and sales, and return in droves. Maybe a lot of members will come back again that miss seeing and buying trains. For those of us heavily into the greatest hobby in the world, can’t wait for the next York Meet!
It will be interesting to see.

Gary, I’ve been hearing the same thing since I went to my first York Meet in 1981. And the same thing at Greenburg’s and other local shows. It may cost more than what vendors sell at a show, but the exposure they get setting up at an event full of people who are there to buy has to count for something. They may complain about the costs but they keep coming back.
If store “A” is there but store “B” isn’t, who do you think buyers will buy from at that moment? I’m guessing that even if someone doesn’t buy from store A, they will remember them for a future on line or phone order. That’s exactly what I’ve done. I have stacks of business cards and internet links to dozens of O gauge stores that I have or will buy from.
I hope you’re right and the next York event has record attendance!
