david1, why are you such a pessimist? April York is going to happen, and I will have had my vaccine way before it. I have already made my reservations for Key West on Feb. 20th 2021, and by the way I am 90 years old.

Hey Eddie I'm not a pessimist but I just don't think the meet will happen. I hope it does but you never know.

No sense in arguing over this, when a vaccine is tested, available and distributed, the show will go on, not before.
However, for the sake of discussion, we in this country can’t even get all the people to take the yearly flu vaccine which is widely available and almost free if you just look hard enough.
Now, who really thinks the Corvid vaccine is going to 1: be available to everyone by April? 2; be accepted and administered, 3: be available for a reasonable fee? (reasonable is of course up to each person).
My thoughts are it will not be available by April to everyone. Just a logistics and manpower issue since it is not available now and it is almost September.
For the skeptics on taking the vaccine, I don’t think they will be the first in line to go to a train show, thus, limiting the tickets sold, thus reducing the fees ED can collect to cover the show. If the show can’t be covered, even with a vaccine available, the ED can’t possibly host a show that loses money.
Lastly, we know the regular flu shot is free or almost free and people still don’t get it for whatever reason. In addition to that, I suspect (my opinion) is that the Corvid vaccine will not be nearly low cost as the flu vaccine. Again, if someone can’t or doesn’t want to fork over the money, they will probably also not attend a train show. Again, fewer people, maybe so few that ED can’t afford to host the show.
In the meantime, just keep posting your progress on new trains, new projects or just having fun with this hobby on OGF!

I believe that the vaccine will be available way before next April. Maybe this November or December. I'm sure that my insurance will pay for it. Come hell or high water I will be at york in April unless I am dead.

Way to think positive Eddie! Sure hope you are right, but my wife tells me I am wrong, and she is usually right.

Even when my wife is not 100% correct, she too is usually right... at least that is what she tells me. I suspect most of us are in the same boat. Charlie
