Believe me, having a DVD/CD capability, saves a lot of work in transferring saved pics and data I use almost daily. I've cut my work in half. Its just finding new apps and updates I'm trying to adjust to. Its nice to have a bookmark Toolbar with ability to navigate quickly between subjects and apps. USB Flash drives are also useful and very easy for that purpose. Very cheap and high capacity, much more than CDs and DVDs.

Years ago, I put some very important stuff on a USB Flash Drive, (yes, they are cheap). I checked, everything was on. Then when I got back to the US, everything on there was gone. Luckily my partner, had the info transferred to a DVD-R. It slowed us down, but after that and a similar happening months later, I no longer will put important stuff on a Flash Drive. It maybe just me.

That’s strange, it’s never happened to me. But I suppose USB flash drives can fail just as anything else. If CDs work for you of course continue to use them. They do have a very long shelf life and are reliable.

josef that sounds similar to what happened to my micro SD card in my last phone. Quite a few pictures on it. Not sure what happened but it got corrupted and I was only able to retrieve a few pictures from it. I save to a SD card still but also use Google photos to store them.

It's quite easy for many USB drives to be corrupted. I treat mine like they were those wretched key cards that can be erased if they come into contact with a cellphone receiving cellular data, or housed in something that has a magnetic latch. I have never found that standard airport security screening affects them, however.

I have most of my passwords written in a book. There is no way I would remember them.
