I was at my firms west coast office on 9-11. Lots of vivid memories on how nice our clients were to work with us as our employees traveled mostly by air. It was a time when we all came together, something that I wish we as a country would do more often. Finally got home on Friday on the first flight out from SJC.

I was at our National Museum of Nature that day inspecting contractual work being carried out on the buildings main chillers when another employee informed us of a news broadcast. We listened to the broadcasts together. The phones were ringing incessantly. Being in the nation's capital,( Ottawa ), all federal employees were instructed to go home. The city was immediately shut down and became a ghost town, eerily quiet. Driving home I remember feeling so oddly detached and thinking the world as I knew it had just changed forever. Never forget...always remember.
