Does anyone know if this GG-1 is supposed to have traction tires? Looked at Lionel's part list online and don't see them. Engine don't have them installed.
I thought all O Gauge engines from Lionel used traction tires? Not moving but has full sound.

Typically the PWC series have Magna Traction to closely replicate the original PW engines. From the Lionel Description on line... GG-1 Features:
Dual Pullmor motors
**12 wheel drive **Command controlled **RailSounds with TowerCom and Crewtalk **Die-cast body trucks and pilots **Magne-Traction **Operating directional headlights **ElectroCouplers **Metal ladders **Operating pantographs **Postwar Celebration Series builders plaque

Whew! Thanks! I forgot about Magna Traction. Now I just need to figure out why it has power and sound but wont move using Legacy 990.

Make sure the control type is set to TMCC or Cab1. I suspect it is since you have sound, assuming whistle and bell control, but a thought. These need a lot of power to get going due to the Magna Traction. When you dial up the speed listen for the motors to strain. Don't over do this but you want to hear if the motors are trying to move. If you hear them trying to move and and it still doesn't run, a magnet might have broken loose from the Magna Traction and is against the drive wheels keeping it from moving. You can JB Weld it back in place if that's the case.

You know how you are supposed to have the ground wire from command base going to track as well as transformer ground wire? Do you need multiple locations for the Legacy 990 base ground wire the same way you do for normal ground and power wires?

Typically only 1 connection from the base is needed whether to the transformer common or track. Bigger layouts might benefit from a second connection. I have 3 loops and I only have 1 connection to the outer loop's outside rail. The loops commons are all connected and I don't have any signal issues.
Remember the pantographs are the antenna for these GG1s. Make sure they are on the engine.
