Let’s talk about warranties since one member had an issue that the dealer would not resolve.
These are warranty terms as I understand them:
MTH Warranty one year for original purchaser. The responsible party is the dealer. They are responsible for repairs of products under warranty. If they are unable to make the repair they are to refund the purchase price or make an exchange. When the dealer returns the item to MTH they will get a refund.
Lionel offers a one year warranty to the original purchaser provided the product was produced within a three period from first introduced in a catalog. In order to get repairs under warranty the purchaser must obtain a RA, send the item back to Lionel along with a receipt from an authorized Lionel dealer. Shipping costs may be refunded at the discretion of Lionel.
Atlas also offers a one year warranty but I do not know what their policy or terms are.
I’m not sure what the warranties are from other manufacturers. Maybe someone on the forum could chime in and also provide a correction.
