Hey folks, we had no trick-or-treaters tonight for Halloween in our neighborhood. But I still had lots of fun putting the brand new Lionel METCA Halloween A5 steam locomotive through its inaugural paces on my layout... along with some festive MTH Halloween rolling stock w/LED's that I snagged at York from JusTrains a couple of weeks ago. Lionel/METCA really outdid themselves on this one, as there are endless whimsical special effects that will keep the kid in all of us entertained as we kick back, relax and watch the trains roll. The Railsounds are absolutely over-the-top phenomenal. And this is sure to be a fun-favorite of family and friends visiting the layout around this time of the year.
No tricks... all treats here. So enjoy!!!
Can't wait to see what's in store for the Lionel Legacy Halloween F-19 steamer, which we're told should now be in our hands by November/December.  |

Very cool video, Dave. Love that A5. The sounds are amazing. Decoration on the cars are getting better and better. Thank you for posting!

i wish someone would make a good long video of the Fast Fright lionchief set with the tier 4 engine i've been dying to see all the features on that thing and the little trailer lionel made doesn't show everything

Very similar sounds and voice to the Lionel Legacy Hallows Eve Steamer that I got a few years ago. I agree, they are very cool trains. I love mine. And if I hadn't just picked up the MTH Crusader I might had looked into this one. See the similarities in my video.

Ah no ... now I want one. Unfortunately it will have to be in the secondary market as they are all sold out.  I ordered mine about 2 years ago with the Christmas version. METCA out did themselves IMO on these two holiday engines. Proving once again that good things come in small packages. My wife is 5'1. There are always exceptions to the rule.

Eric's trains did an unboxing and run of the new Lionel Halloween Triplex. Another fun Halloween release, but at a much heftier price.
