I will occasionally catch bits of them when the wife has them on. Can't say I've ever watched one start-to-finish. Still, it's a seasonal thing that gets you thinking about the holidays.

I used to watch until Hallmark caved to the left. You want true family oriented movies without agenda attached. Check this out www.greatamericanfamily.com/

Two of my all time favorites Christmas movies are the B&W original version of The Bishop's Wife. That and the Alistair Sim's B&W version of A Christmas Carol are hard to beat. I don't watch too much TV otherwise.

There are some still good Hallmark Christmas movies but too many with the same theme, just different actors. We started last year getting a collection of TV series of the 50s and 60s that had a Holiday Theme and watching them along with many classics we grew up with.

We enjoy watching the Christmas movies, even occasionally when they broadcast them in July.
But what I miss are the variety shows when they had their Christmas specials. Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Dean Martin, Andy Williams, etc. I have a video of a Jack Benny skit where he’s trying to buy a Christmas gift for Rochester and he drives the salesman crazy. I’m not sure but I think the salesman was Mel Blanc.

My wife could watch Hallmark Christmas shows 24/7/365. I like them but only occasionally.

The fake reverb and the constant harmonica accompaniment can get a bit much but in small doses great fun especially if you have the Sing A Long gatefold record album handy!
