At this point I’m just waiting for Padres Spring Training tickets to go on sale. Sitting in the warm Arizona sunshine with a hot dog and a beer and not having to care who wins. We already have tickets for Opening Day, it’ll be here before we know it!

We went down to Florida back in March to see the Phillies spring training. We saw games in Clearwater, Bradenton and Port St. Lucie. Lots of fun!

If Soto stay's. We will get to the WS again next year.

Dodgers deserve much credit for overcoming their weaker pitching overall, previous injuries to starting pitching, to bring home the win. And some timely hitting, particularly by Freddie Freeman. But as for the idiots who apparently have never played the game talking about how far superior the Dodgers are, recall that their net runs over the Yankees for 5 games was 2 runs total . Mostly unearned, due to Yankee's mistakes in the field, rather than crappy pitching, which usually wins the Series. It's amazing and telling that the Dodgers won 4 games to 1 with overall inferior pitching by any metric you want to apply. Yankees beat themselves through poor defense in some ways, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. A few decent quality plays that the Yankees didn't make defensively that they would usually make and this series is going back to Los Angeles with the Yankees up 3-2. But coulda, woulda, shoulda doesn't count. Clearly the Dodgers outplayed them in the defensive part of the game, and it made all the difference. As they used to say in Brooklyn in the early 1950s, wait till next year. Baseball is like that. Weird stuff happens. I don't think any of the Dodger players would claim they are the far superior team. They did play better baseball in four of those 5 games, and deserved the win.

Dodgers are the better team, Yanks were CHOKE city.

The look on the Yankee pitcher's face in the 5th inning after the Dodger 5 run two out rally said it all. Even if you are not a Yankee's fan you had to feel for the guy.

"Dodgers are the better team, Yanks were CHOKE city."
Baseball is perhaps the most unpredictable of sports for many reasons.
Stuff happens. Just look at history. Judge's error was his first as a center fielder in 2,000 innings. You want to call that choking, it's important to recall how hard it is be flawless for 2,000 innings in center field. I have some idea, having played center field for a NY State championship Babe Ruth league team, alongside a future major leaguer with a 15 year + career. Dodgers are a great team, but they are virtually the same team eliminated multiple times in the last few years in division or league series. That's baseball. You win some you should have lost and you lose some you should have won.

Dodgers won exactly 2.3% more games than the Yankees last year. So they are better . But the Yankees likely will be the favorites to have the best record in the American league next year, just as they did this year. They need Soto, or an equivalent player, and they need their younger players to continue to develop, and they need to stay healthy. Pitching wins championships, for those who remember Koufax and Drysdale at their peak. But this is all beside the point and that's why they play the game. Predictions aren't worth the electrons on the screen.

If the Orioles pitching staff had not been decimated by season ending injuries the Yankees might not even be in the World Series.

"Don't be so sure. If the Orioles pitching staff had not been decimated by season ending injuries the Yankees might not even be in the World Series." I'm not sure. That's one of my points. But remember that last year's Cy Young winner, Cole, missed a good bit of the season, and he's better than any Oriole pitcher most years . And some of their relievers, including strong ones like Loáisiga, also missed the season. Part of the game, of course.

No sports team or player pays any of my bills. I am at best a casual observer. It is all about how the stars align in any given year.

Soto wants $75 million per year...do you think Yanks will pay that? Maybe. Dodgers will pay that.

Any player can get hot or go cold at any moment. It’s why they play the games.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are your World Champions.

The pressure of the world series is nothing compared to the intensity of those looking for desired train items at York. Mere child's play by comparison.
