Loctite could be the solution of last resort. That is what I did and it works. Well, sure, it'll prevent accidental uncoupling, but don't forget the chisel for when you need to uncouple!

Global e made sense for me. I don’t have DCS and I don’t use any remote uncouple feature. Stays shut, I ‘lll take it. But suppose I needed a new board? Where do I take my MTH locomotives for repair? The Train Depot in Mt Airy Maryland is a known quality MTH repair station. Thank you! I don't think that there is an MTH repair shop in New England?

Install it myself? I think that you over estimate my technical skills! Just a small Phillips head screw driver to open up the engine and unscrew the coupler. The coupler electrical connection is just a plug. Or instead, you could just unplug the coupler and see if it holds shut too…
