I wasn't able to attend but I was wondering how the York pre-show/bandit meets were?

For the second time in about 12 years I went to three York bandit meets.. Living only a bit over an hours drive, maybe I should have gone a few more times. Went to the Wyndham; Purple Hall; and a Fire Hall (I think Reliance). The Purple Hall was curtained off halfway; filled with sellers. At 11.30 am the attendance was light! At the Wyndham, at 10.30 or so, which I've never before visited, the downstairs ball rooms and meeting rooms were packed both with sellers and buyers. I scored two CN bathtub gondolas for the CN train I already own. Good prices. The guys setting up outdoors WAAAYYY out in the parking lot most likely had awesome, though windy weather. There was quite a large portion of the parking lot taken over/shared for the outdoor sellers. This was probably early for them to set up (@10.30am) and they were just getting started, I guess. I should add that the indoors part of the Wyndham bandit definitely had much more prewar than anything else. Plenty of Postwar stuff!!! PurpleHall had more of a mix of you name it.

Years ago I would go along as a setup and sales helper at the Wyndham Show. Back in those days folks were set and selling in the parking lot before dawn. It looked like a firefly convention with all the flash lights. Maybe there are new set up rules, or just a heartier breed back then.
