I vaguely remember that after he passed his daughter posted she would be in charge of his layout and continue with and post to honor his memory. Has she been doing that? If not I wonder whether the layout even still exits intact or if she's had it dismantled? Anyone know the current status of the layout or his daughter or both?

I would imagine there's a lot to deal with following the passing of her folks...the train layout might not be way up there on the priority list.

Thanks for bringing Brian back to mind. Christmas was his all-year-round train activity.I would guess that Emil or Adam may have some info, and may be able to post some photos. Alfred

I'm thinking about them as well. They did Christmas big and all year long. I remember the excitement in his voice when we talked about the season.
Sadly, we lost contact with his kids and have no idea what happened with his layout. I'm not holding my breath that it remained intact.

I met Brian many years ago well before the OGF. He was a great guy when we went to dinner one York and a few others. He was always thinking about how he could expand the hobbies of trains, dept56 and 1/48 diecast cars. I loved talking to him about how we were building our layouts. He always gave me advice on dept56 buildings we both liked. He was the expert, he knew the market and belonged to a few dept56 clubs. If I had a question he was the one I went to.
After he got home from his last trip to the hospital and being in a wheelchair he decided to put up a display of static train and dept56 items. He died not long after. That was one man who loved his hobbies and his wife. God bless Brian and rest in peace. Thank you for being a friend.

Brian was a super individual and very passionate about the hobby and the forum here. A true giver. I spoke with him many a times and his dream was to keep this Forum alive. So, anything I could do to contribute he deeply appreciated. I do miss him and although he did not share many photos of his layout. The ones I have seen are spectacular. I was moving boxes just the other night and saw his name on a box of passenger cars I bought from him at York. I am sure him and his wife are making another train layout together right now.

I miss Brian everytime I come here and think of him often. I also wondern what happened or will happen to his layout and the work, love, and care Brian and Elisabeth put into it.

I got to shake his hand at York. He is one of the reasons I am here. The week he passed away, two other friends passed as well. My heart was very heavy that week.
