I never have been a fan of Halloween, Christmas, Area 51, type trains. But for some reason they are growing on me. I keep watching the videos and saying to myself "now that is cool".
I watched Marty's video some time ago on the Star trek set not thinking much of it before watching the video but after watching it I went searching for it online, have not bought it yet but I may be close.
What's wrong with me, is it old age!, am I going off the deep end! Lets see the Christmas train would be cool, how about Area51!!, what's going to happen to all my scale trains!!! I NEED HELP!!

I think we're all in need of some whimsical variety in life. That's why some of the fantasy "what if" paint schemes are becoming so popular. I find myself opting for those much more than the standard black steam locomotive nowadays.

It may be counter intuitive for some, but I like full scale fantasy trains like the Area 51 train and AEC train that is supposed to be coming out in a couple of weeks.

There *is* a standard treatment if you have specialty trains growing on you: MORE TRAINS!The treatment won't resolve the itch other than temporarily, nor will it do your financial status any good, but at least you'll end up with (you guessed it!) MORE TRAINS!  |

Unless I am mistaken, they aren't making new steam engines anymore, and new engines of any type are fairly few and far between at least in the USA. If you are selling model trains, you have to do something other than continue to make the same old warhorses. Fantasy and what if schemes are an answer. Nothing like a new paint scheme/road name to freshen the daisies.

I am the total opposite. I just love Holiday specific trains. That's all I have been buying the last 7 years. Only recently have I started seeing and wanting the other stuff. But I only run trains around the holidays. Once I complete my permanent layout things will be different. MAYBE! hehehe
