Woke up to 37 degree temperatures this morning the furnace is miss behaving, but working. A friend who knows how to work on them is stopping by to install a new thermostat mainly because I'm not handy that way and I'm not ready to give my kidney for a service call. However if it comes to that, I guess my left kidney will do.😋 Oh, c'mon, DennyM -- I have faith you can master the two or three wires the typical thermostat has, even the fancy electronic ones you can program and/or control from your phone! If not, back slowly away from your layout, and call the local fire marshal . . . The new thermostat is installed. Just for the record I have nerve damage and it's difficult for me to do some things, so it's nice when you have friend's to give you a helping hand

The new thermostat is installed. Just for the record I have nerve damage and it's difficult for me to do some things, so it's nice when you have friend's to give you a helping hand Glad things worked out, DennyM, and that you had someone willing to lend you a hand! No aspersions intended to be cast -- just poking a bit of fun that someone as adept at electric wiring as you might need help with the two/three/four wires I imagined being involved. Believe me, I feel your pain, especially with the tiny and fiddly stuff! By coincidence, I had just finished replacing a wall wart that had given up the ghost while powering the remote control for the gas fireplace heater. Only two wires, but a PITA to route!
