I have a Weaver SD40-2 that is Montana rail link in blue. I would like to have it painted and decaled in army green for my military train. Any of the painters out there willing to do this? what would be the approx cost. I would do it myself but my arthritis in my hands Don't allow me to do that anymore. Plus right know I'm going thru chemo that's been making me sick!!
I have about 19 flat cars with military loads mostly made by me and some others from Mth. It will be pulled by the desert storm locomotive and the dummy painted in army green.
I would appreciate the help in getting this done.

Just let me know if you want a semi Gloss or Gloss finish. I just need for alcohol and paint. 5 dollars should cover that.

I'm buying 91% isopropyl for $3.99 a bottle. I just used 2 bottles to strip a tank car ($8). An engine could take me 3-4 ($16).

You do put a cover or cover and seal your wash container right? Otherwise the alcohol will evaporate and weaken. Looking at a bottle with price tag on it, says 2.49.

I buy the large bottle for $3.99 (in my area anyway). I always thought the entire model needed to be submerged, thus the extra alcohol. Are you rotating the model every so often?

I too, use 91%. I also bought some of these containers that are perfect for boxcars. Filled, the containers have the car totally submerged. They seal shut and I have been using the same IPA for almost year, with a little added now and then, to replace for spillage. For bigger projects, I use a large Tupperware “pan” with a lid. The loco or car is rotated every so often in a pool of IPA… www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TK1BM8P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Tom

I do as 4dogsinjersey. I save and add. Paint I strain through a cheesecloth so to save the alcohol back into closed container till next time. I use an old toothbrush and a nylon soft bristle brush and tootpicks to get stubborn paint off and loose from walkways and ladders.
