Yesterday afternoon UPS delivered Lionel’s Norfolk & Western #1959 Vision Line Triplex — produced as a custom-run by The Train Loft. I didn’t have a full complement of N&W passenger cars on hand for this steamer’s inaugural ride on my layout. So I grabbed a full-dome coach from my Norfolk Southern executive train and a Virginian caboose to ride along.
Color-matching MTH high-sided hopper cars — also being produced by The Train Loft — will be the official consist behind this cool Triplex, when they arrive in a few months. So until then, enjoy this video clip for now…

Excellent video. Though I was worried if it would clear entering the tunnel at start, looked mighty close. Thanks for sharing.

How many Triplexes did the N&W own that looked like this one.?
I also noticed it looked like it just barely cleared going into the tunnel, Maybe it just the angle of the video.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It was a lot of fun putting the video together.
No worries about clearances though. When the layout was built in 2017, the MTH Triplex was the largest locomotive on the roster. And we made sure at the time that all tunnel clearances could handle a Triplex locomotive. And from the looks of things, the Lionel Triplex (based on MTH tooling) has similar clearance requirements.
